DIRECTIONS FOR USE
NEOMYCIN SULFATE is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is bactericidal for many gram-positive, gram-negative and possibly mycobacteria. It is chemically related to the antibiotic kanamycin. The drug is useful for the control of bacterial infections (including some caused by species of the bacteria Pseudomonas) of freshwater and marine fishes. Neomycin is recommended for use in treating enteritis. Due to its use at a number of freshwater aquarium fish culture facilities, the bacteria from such operations may be resistant to neomycin.

TREATMENT PROCEDURES AND DOSAGE
BATH. As a treatment for susceptible external and internal bacterial infections, use 66 mg/L (this is equal to 39.6 mg/L of free neomycin). Continue treatment for 3-5 days. Partial water changes must be made before each retreatment. To achieve the recommended dosage, add 250 mg per gallon. For accuracy and reproducibility of results, this drug should be measured by weight. However, because of its relative safety in aquariums, it can be measured out in teaspoonfuls when treating small volumes of water. An approximation of the recommended treatment range can be achieved by adding 1 level teaspoon of neomycin per 8 gallons of aquarium water. For additional assistance in the implementation of this procedure, contact AquaVet.

CAUTION:
Avoid skin and eye contact.
Avoid breathing the powder or dust.
In case of eye contact, immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes.
In case of skin contact, wash with soap or a mild detergent.
In case of ingestion contact a physician immediately.
